"Blending a nostalgic metal sound with modern production and distinctive elements, Deadly Virtues shows great potential for such a new act."
- The Metalverse
Decay of Society is our first record released under Deadly Virtues, and it captures the tension of living in a world that feels like it’s constantly coming apart at the seams. The songs display themes of resilience, rebellion, and the slow erosion of modern values, filtered through personal struggle and collective frustration.
Sonically, the record blends crushing riffs, aggressive rhythms, and atmospheric moments rooted in heavy metal, nu-metal, and metalcore influences, creating a unique sound combining grungy heaviness with melodic counter melodies that are sure to make you move! Every track is built to hit hard while still saying something real, reflecting both the chaos around us and the fight to stay grounded within it.

"Deadly Virtues, utilizes a metalcore reminiscent sound (...) that alternates screaming and singing, alongside djenty and progressive instrumentals that create a unique and technical sound."

Founding member and Frontman for Deadly Virtues, Mike has an extensive background in performing in multiple disciplines including; percussion, guitar, and voice among many others.
Involved with music since junior high, Mike has been performing for the last 20 years from marching band to garage bands to the youth music group at church.

After 4 years as a Marine Musician and a 10 year hiatus from music, Mike returned to his passion for metal and playing guitar with the founding of Deadly Virtues in 2022, with the goal of delivering a raw, powerful melodic sound that invokes nostalgia of music styles we all loved growing up in the 90's and 2000's music scene.

With the influences of artists such as Chevelle and In Flames, to Killswitch Engage and Atreyu, Deadly Virtues offers a unique sound unlike any other band in the scene today. Having already played multiple shows across the southwest, Deadly Virtues is quickly becoming a recognizable name within the metal community.
Originally from El Paso, Ben has a background in music spanning the entire southwest. Inspired by his cousin in his youth, Ben took up the Bass after receiving a guitar from his girlfriend, replacing the modified acoustic guitar that was used as a bass up to that point.

Ben has influences that span a wide range of artists from punk rock to metal including Metallica and Nine Inch Nails. His initial days as a bassist originated from playing in bands in college at local venues and backyard house parties.
Experienced in playing shows in the San Diego, Phoenix, and El Paso areas, and opening for iconic bands such as Pronk, Ben's experience speaks for itself in his playing and presence within Deadly Virtues.

"Capitula Vitae" will be Ben's debut recording with the band, demonstrating his technical ability from playing chords to plucking and more. With years of experience and a tenacity for taking the stage, Ben will be delivering raw, gritty bass lines to Deadly Virtues fans for many years to come.
